Avengers: Yawnday

Avengers Doomsday trailer came out recently, and the reactions have been…

Interesting:

===

“this is a bigger threat than we’ve ever faced….” yawn, okay whatever

===

(2789 people share this top comment’s sentiment.)

There’s an ancient Chinese proverb that says: “a strength overextended becomes a weakness.”

Marvel played that “biggest threat we’ve ever faced” card one too many times and… well…

It’s indeed become a weakness.

So is the same with emails like these:

How many times has your average customer’s inbox been “blessed” with emails like the above?

(Mind you: all are real emails sitting in my inbox from four “different” supplement brands.)

Not only do they invoke that “yawn whatever” effect…

(i.e. they’re not differentiated in any way, shape or form whatsoever…)

Those emails are repulsive.

They’re sales pitches, and who likes salesmen cramming something down their throat?

Granted:

Not saying smothering someone to buy doesn’t work, it does…

…but it works only on “the hyper-buyers.”

They’re the 1-5% of people present in every market/niche/industry…

…who have such a strong, fervent desire/want for your supplement that you really only need to put an offer in their face before they’re shouting:

Take my credit card already!

But what about the other 95% – the “Non-Hyper Buyers”?

Well, they require a more sophisticated email approach.

One like my Email Storyselling approach.

See my entire book about it.

(Blind spots #3 and #5 most notably, though.)
