How to sell supplements to people who don’t particularly trust supplement companies…

Decades ago, trust was high, and the value of items in the marketplace was far more affected by the availability of the thing.

Take the news as an example:

The talking heads on nightly news were TRUSTED – there were only a few sources available…

…and what they said is what people believed.

It was the same with consumer goods:

Availability of a thing was the issue, not so much whether the product was “trusted.”

It’s very different nowadays – there’s too much of everything.

Products and services are all over the place – knowing who & what to trust is the hard path.

And businesses don’t make it any easier!

Most’s minds are fixated on getting the thing they want.

(i.e. the sale.)

They want YOU to say YES to what they have…

…and give them money for it.

EVERY SINGLE prospect can feel this.

Here are just some examples from my inbox:

The supplement industry doesn’t have the most upstanding reputation to begin with:

  • They may have gotten the order on time…but that protein tub burst open and coated everything inside the box in chalky powder.
  • They may have ordered a pre-workout… only for it to show up clumped in a solid brick despite having months left before expiry.
  • A customer may have had an experience with being promised an order after three days… but only getting it after two weeks.

(That too after a significant tug-of-war with customer service.)

These are not hypotheticals.

I have seen – and even experienced some myself – all these after being in this space for 9+ years.

So your average supplement buyer?

He’s turbo skeptical & jaded… he needs to be convinced more on buying from you and you specifically… he doesn’t want to be treated like a herd there just to be billed… he simply does not buy from emails that go straight for the dispassionate sale.

I call these the “Non-Hyper Buyers”.

(As opposed to their counterpart – “Hyper-Buyers” – which are rabid-type buyers who have such a fervent demand for supplements you merely need to put an offer in front of them and they’ll buy.)

95% of this market consists of the Non-Hyper Buyers.

This is what you’re dealing with, so pick your email approach carefully.

If you’d consider something other than the standard mercenary brute-force email marketing play?

(e.g. the emails above.)

Then my book goes a great deal into how to get the Non-Hyper Buyers to buy.

(Blind Spots #3 and #5 most notably.)

It is going to take more time, and SIGNIFICANTLY more effort…

But it is precisely because of that?

Your competition probably won’t even bother.

Few have the patience in this space – but that’s a source of competitive advantage to be gained if you play your cards right.

All depends on you, Shifty.
