You may remember that pretty “controversial” email I sent out recently…
(At least by the number of responses I got to it.)
It was the “How Trump can make your emails more magnetic…” email.
I made a point how it probably wouldn’t be of harm to your business – and yourself as well – if you adopted this mindset of learning from both the people you like…
… and the people you DISlike.
I said how I learned a few things from none other than…
Hitler himself.
To which one reader replied to my email and asked:
===
I’m curious what stuff you learned from Hitler. Is that true or?
===
You bet your sweet heinie that’s true – let me explain:
I found this on Twitter (I refuse to call it X) from someone who read the book: “Hitler: The Memoir of a Nazi Insider Who Turned Against the Führer”.
This person shared what he read on page 53 of that book – specifically the part where old Adolf recognized the absolute importance of not publishing monthly… or biweekly… or weekly… or even semi-weekly.
But daily.
Here are some quotes from the Bohemian Corporal himself:
(That’s a derogatory term for Hitler btw – in case some absolute bellend gets the idea that I’m somehow glorifying him…)
===
How can I hammer my ideas into the German people without a press, the newspapers ignore me utterly.
===
How can I follow up my successes as a speaker with our miserable four-page Völkische Beobachter once a week? We’ll get nowhere until it appears as daily.
===
If he was around today, I am 99.9999% sure…
Hitler would’ve emailed daily.
Hitler understood the absolute power to be gained by staying top-of-mind and by consistently building that relationship with your followers.
(In email terms – your subscribers.)
Yet…
I see very few Sports Nutrition brands email daily – heck, it’s not often that I see someone emailing even once a WEEK!
As I said in my Book…
NOT emailing frequently enough (let alone daily) is probably the biggest Blind Spot – of the 7 – that I feature in there…
(It’s not an accident that’s the longest chapter of the book.)
If you’re reading this and thinking something along the lines of: “Okay I get it, but how do you reckon we come up with an idea for an email EVERY day? It isn’t easy.”
I never said it was easy sport.
In fact:
I even wrote an email – about this – how it might not even be mental-health friendly to email daily with the way i do it!
(It’s the “Why my “Email Storyselling” methodology may not be mental health friendly…” email – I uploaded it to my Email Echoes page just so I can always refer to this ‘how do you come up with ideas for daily emails’ question…)
Lucky for you though…
