If I wrote my next YEAR’s worth of emails using AI…
I’d be finished.
- People would disengage…
- People would feel betrayed…
- People would lose interest in what I had to say/offer…
- People would pull out any of their trust capital invested in me.
Why?
Because contrary to the news, gurus, bro podcasters, and investment analysts that are paid to parrot corporate propaganda narratives around AI…
People are tired of fake.
They don’t want to listen to an AI-generated podcast… watch an AI slop video… or read an “AI-powered” book.
Case in point on the last one – Mike Israetel’s latest book:
“The Aesthetic Revolution: Embracing Vanity and the Future of Fitness to Unlock Your Healthiest Self”
(Am I the only one amused that the subhead is basically a call to embrace the devil’s favourite sin? Lol.)
You open Amazon and… MY GOD – a 1.8 out of 5* rating?!?!
I genuinely don’t remember the last time I saw a book rated so low. What’s the deal here? How can the biggest YouTuber in the fitness space flunk so badly?
Let’s see some reviews:
===
The whole writing style mimics something AI would spit out, and I can’t help but wonder how much of this was actually written by a human. Don’t waste your time.

===
This book is Al slop through and through. Truly disgusting. Write your own book, Mike
===
===
This book is a tremendous failure on Mike’s part, and a profound betrayal of his responsibility to provide careful, science-based information to his followers, who have come to trust him and rely on him for rational health and fitness guidance.

Didn’t buy this Al slop LARPing as a book. Instead watched Solomon’s 1 hr and 41 defilement of it. Mike just lost a fan forever. To use an Al tell: It’s not just Al slop—it’s a career unwinding brutally one LLM-generated sentence at a time. Don’t buy it.
===
Well… now it’s not such a mystery.
But hold on:
There’s a 1h 41m defilement of his book on YouTube?!?
Turns out, there is – Solomon Nelson actually went over the entire book…
…and pinpointed EVERY piece of ChatGipity-generated copy inside it.
(The bit about Mike getting teased for having a big gut in his teens might be the only section not AI-generated lol.)
But – as is frequent in life – it gets worse:
Prior to the book’s launch, Mike had stated on Twatter that he ‘100% used AI to help him smooth out some of the prose’
(Side note: I’ve noticed AI Kool-Aid drinkers love the phrase “smooth out” XYZ – it roughly translates to them outsourcing 95-99% of it to the Borg.)
Then, in that same tweet?
He made a sarcastic comparison of using a PC and the internet to also help him write prompt the book.
You have to admire the sheer confidence required to insult your audience’s intelligence this aggressively.
Not only is publishing a blatantly ChatGipity-generated book enough…
…but comparing the use of AI to a PC and the internet is reductive & misleading on unprecedented levels. A word processor – or a pencil – passively records your human expression, while AI actively invents your human expression.
But I guess recognizing when two tools are actually analogous…
…is too much to ask of a pseudointellectual AI worshipper with body dysmorphia.
It’s funny watching businesses embarrass themselves by allowing AI to communicate with their audiences.
This was an example of a failed bodybuilder – deep in AI psychosis – writing prompting a manifesto of cope masquerading as a book.
(And the book really is sad – it’s essentially a checklist of workarounds for Mike’s individual failures and shortcomings.)
But a lot of businesses – small, medium or giant – keep driving away sales with this “latest & greatest” shiny gizmo.
Despite what your intentions are for using this technology, the message that gets received is:
“WE DON’T CARE ENOUGH ABOUT YOU TO DO THIS OURSELVES!”
And humans don’t like being treated like they don’t matter.
(Shocking.)
This should be obvious to everyone, but there are a lot of people whose revenue and reputation…
…depend on it NOT being obvious.
(And many other people are just lazy and want something for nothing –e.g. Mr. Mike.)
Treat your people like humans or they will move to the folks who do.
It is very simple.
This is why my Email Storyselling approach to emails is, unashamedly, 100% O.F.H.I (old-fashioned human intelligence) generated.
And also:
Because the Borg can never get close to me.
The investment of time & effort I put into my emails? It catapults me to a level of competence and mastery not available to the borg – which delivers homogenized everything.
In other words:
Choosing a stochastic pattern recognition machine AI to craft your emails is choosing average.
If you want brilliance?
YOU have to produce it.
Will not explain further.
If this sounds too self-aggrandizing for your delicate anti-braggadocio ears (fair), well that’s because it is – but it doesn’t make it any less true.
Anywho:
