How to shun the greedy deal-sucking chargeback succubus away from your supplement biz…

I came across the following tweet from an irate supplement business owner:

===

Some customers can be very greedy #discounts #samples #freedelivery Come on you can’t have it all…

===

Then just a day later, he tweeted this (supposedly related to the prior post):

===

Chargebacks?! Why? Why don’t customers read T&Cs!!

===

A couple months ago, I saw a ‘Cease & Re-Desist’ letter from Costco sent to a customer exploiting their return policy.

Costco:

You know you’re a bottom-of-the-barrel consumer when you have to exploit a company with perhaps the most generous returns policy…

The point?

Post-mid 2010s there’s definitely been a noticeable decline in customer quality.

You’ll find them nagging your CS; initiating chargebacks for no reason; and squeezing you out for every last drop of “value” they can get out of you…

…at almost every corner.

The corporate world calls these people “value-oriented customers”…

I call them a greedy deal-sucking chargeback succubus.

And equate them to a virus.

Why?

Because the only way you can get rid of them is by cutting them off.

(Or quarantining – if you’re already plagued – recovering, and then cutting it off.)

This means curating heavily.

i.e. practicing what I call repulsion marketing.

(Wrote more extensively about it in the “Why repulsion marketing > attraction marketing” email – it’s on my Email Echoes page.)

Repulsion is at the forefront of my Email Storyselling methodology – it’s deliberately designed for some customers to love them dearly…

…and others to hate it passionately.

And most importantly:

For the lukewarm/milquetoast people to make up their mind – choose which cohort they belong in – and stop wasting your time, bandwidth and money sitting on your newsletter doing nothing.

If you’re interested in the “how” behind this…
