If you use AI in your email marketing…
This may be the most important message you’ll read this entire year.
Let me explain:
There is something most marketers – email or otherwise – forcing easing their customers into tech/AI….
…urgently need to consider.
The fact that the average American is not just tired, or overwhelmed…
But downright traumatized.
They aren’t just anxious and/or frustrated by the hubbub of daily life…
They’re exhausted:
- Exhausted by constant arguing/fighting and/or biting their tongues until they bleed to avoid such situations…
- Exhausted by watching their already expensive city/state… become even more unaffordable by the next month…
- Exhausted by their local, regional and national government failing them every step of the way…
- Exhausted by the incessant media machine relentlessly doom-pilling them about wars, job destruction, and the next health scare…
- Exhausted by FOMO of trying to keep up with the latest trends, fads, news, tech and the “Joneses” in general…
(And everything above goes just as much for non-US countries as well – maybe even more so since no economy is as “robust” as the US’s is.)
Their ability to pay attention to what YOU want them to talk about…
(i.e. listen to that sales pitch you call a “promo email” for that pre-workout…)
Is severely compromised.
They can’t.
The room won’t stop spinning long enough.
Whatever they’re doing, they are simultaneously thinking about what else they should be doing….
They rarely make actual decisions – merely Pavlovian responses.
They are traumatized by it all.
(And I loathe using that word – it’s been diluted by overuse.)
So take that into consideration the next time you think of pressing “Send” on an email with Subject Lines akin to:

Blatant sales pitches them all.
(With definitely likely a sprinkle of ChatGiPity added on top of it.)
If this is how your email marketing looks?
Well…
You’re adding to their problems.
Whereas you COULD’VE been rewarded for being part of the solution.
What is the solution?
It’s something so damn simple that I am definitely not winning any awards at the annual Sigma Grindset Hustler University podium because of it:
It’s merely sending relevant, interesting, entertaining emails which people would want to read…
…making them decent offers – in those same emails – which they would want to buy.
(You have 11 examples, of how I do it, inside my book in the Appendix section.)
This has always been a very prosperous and reliable email strategy.
But in an age where your average customer is frayed… on edge… easily and quickly triggered?
It’s virtually the only way to break through the noise.
Otherwise?
You don’t even register.
“But that’s not true! We still get sales when we send AI-generated emails!”
Yes, you do.
But those sales mostly come from the “Hyper-Buyers”:
They’re the 1-5% of people in every niche/ market/ space/ industry who have such a strong, fervent demand for your products…
…that you merely need to put that pre-workout offer in front of them before they’re shouting:
“Take my credit card already!!!”
It’s like having fish that are so hungry they’ll bite even if the hook is empty.
If you’re all right with the fact that ~95% of your potential customers will simply never do business with you that way…
Then put this email on the shelf, it’s not for you.
But be aware you’re taking a reductionist approach to business:
if you keep it small…
…you’ll keep it under control.
If you don’t make any noise…
…the economic bogeyman won’t find you.
But it’s all an illusion.
Because businesses, like men, die too.
A small candle burns itself out just as a flaming torch does.
But I digress:
In this age of relentless upheaval and uncertainty…
…it is vital you keep thinking like your customer.
Not like you think… not like your teammates think… not like your ad agency thinks.
Do not lose sight of the average customer’s current condition.
It could prove costly.
There is, however, an alternative…
An alternative where you can actually ignore all of the above…
…yet still, paradoxically, sow all the benefits.
